Days 265/365

I finally got to read Eat to Live, which has inspired my yummy breakfast you see here. After the first, I will start eating the Eat to Live way. I have needed to start eating healthier for a while now. I lost a bunch of weight on the protein shakes, but that is not the way to permanent weight loss. When I became a vegetarian, I figured my diet would improve on its own. And it did, to a point. I certainly ate a lot more veggies than I used to. But I still ate a lot of fat. It's easy to eat junk food. There usually isn't any meat in it! But I am tired of feeling sluggish. I felt so, so much better when I was not eating all the junk food. The holidays brought a lot of excess. And they are over now, thank God. And since Steve went vegan, there is a lot less junk in the house. And I eat very little dairy anymore. Of course, I've never been a milk person but cheese has always been my weakness. But even that has been cut way, way back since Steve stopped eating it. My grand-plan when I became a veggie was to eventually go vegan. I'm not sure I'm there yet, but with Eat to Live, there is no dairy, so I will cutting it out of my diet for now. Vegan is so much more than a diet though. It is a lifestyle. When Steve went Vegan, he donated all his leather shoes/coat to the needy. I haven't been able to give my shoes away. So I guess it is baby steps for now. Diet first, lifestyle second. I can't wait for breakfast tomorrow!

Days 255/365

Tyler is as happy as I've ever seen him. Makes we wonder if we should move somewhere snowier.

Days 254/365

Snoooooowwwwww day!! I really, really love snow. I mean I REALLY love it. So when Saturday brought us almost 2 feet, I was beside myself with happiness. We had a beautiful day. Started out by playing with the dogs in the snow. Then headed to Moxie for breakfast, where we hung out with friends. Then we walked around downtown, which was so beautiful and peaceful, and stopped into Magoo's and Bushwallers. Came home and played outside with the dogs again, then we made Snow-garitas. Then we were sad, because the storm was keeping us away from our friends Mike and Geri's Yule party. But we could walk to the Bad Sweater Party on 3rd, so we headed over there. Ended the night at Guidos. Then home to bed! What a perfect day.

Days 253/365

Some people run out to get bread and milk before a big snowstorm. Us? We get Tequila so we can make snow-garitas!

Days 235/365

Saturday didn't turn out the way we'd thought it would, but it was great! We headed downtown and had lunch at Isabella's. Walking home, we saw Chris and Kathy outside Bushwaller's. We hung outside with them for a bit, chatting, when Team Fun came out. So we knew at that point that we'd be hanging out for a while. We had a great time. It was nice to just hang with friends again. Steve threw darts with Mike and re-ignited his love of darts. Here is the back massage train.

Days 234/365

Frosty Friday is a good way to get back into real life. We kept up our tradition of heading downtown and avoiding the malls. We started by buying a few presents, then headed to Firestones, where we end up every year. Then we were off to do more shopping. Then, that night, we headed to Cafe Nola to try their new tofu dinner. If you think you don't like tofu, you aren't allowed to say that until you've tried this amazing dish. Pan seared with an asparagus puree and roasted veggies. Yumm. Then we headed home and crashed on the couch and watched Hamlet 2, which I really loved.

Days 231-233/365

Still not taking pictures. Having a hard time getting back into real life and going back to real life things.

Day 218/365

The cats always pounce on me as soon as I walk in the door. They act like they haven't eaten in days. So I feed them and Sly is too hungry to even get up to the food. He has to start eating mid jump.
